John earned a degree in ornamental horticulture from SUNY Farmingdale and recently retired from Atlantic Nurseries in Dix Hills, where he served as nursery manager. "John has always been an advocate for raising the level of professionalism in the industry through education," wrote Region 1 CNLP Co-Chair and LINLA Immediate Past Preisdent Carol Isles, who nominated him for CNLP of the Year. "This extends from the formal education through his support of SUNY Farmingdale to the informal as illustrated by his commitment to LINLA education programs as well as the NYSNLA programs. During his career he has championed educational programs at every employer and encouraged and supported his staff in obtaining their CNLP certification."
